My apologies for bombarding you with information, but the Royal Cornwall have just come back to me with more information relating to the National Championships! So here goes!
Early Arrivals Parking
Secure overnight parking has been arranged for Monday 22nd June. This will be at the Park and Ride on the way into Falmouth next to the Lidl Store roundabout. The cost will be, £4.00 for just a boat and trailer, or £8.00 for a car, boat and trailer. Please call 07866 499012 to arrange.
There will be secure parking at Pendennis Docks on Saturday 27th June prior to your departure on Sunday 28th June at no extra cost.
Early Launching Options
Early Launching, if you wish to have your boat craned in on Monday, please contact Robin on 07836 539621. The cost for this is an additional £100.00 per boat. Please note, there is a slipway that can be used at a much reduced cost.
Recovery of Boats
The order of haul out on Saturday 27th June will be according to the overall results on Friday 26th June. If you have to get away very quickly on Saturday evening, please make your case known to the organisers.
A very reasonably priced packed lunch option is offered by the Royal Cornwall. Please see the attached booking form.
Social Booking Form
A booking form is attached for the various social events during the National Championships. It would be great to have a really good turn out for Thursday’s BBQ and Saturday’s Dinner and Prizegiving (and P.A.R.T.Y…….let’s hope it matches the 2008 Nationals Prize Giving Party!)
Launching & Recovery
The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club have arranged for crane launching for all boats on Tuesday 23rd June. An e-mail was sent from the Club on Friday afternoon, and it appears that some people have not seen this e-mail. It is necessary to book your launching slot, so please ensure that you have seen this information which is also posted in the chat forum.
AGM – Thursday 25th June
The SB3 Class AGM will be held at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club at 7pm. Please come along and hear the Committee’s plans for the future. There will also be a “Question and Answer” session, so come a long and have your say.
Points Mean Prizes
There will be a daily prize giving at the Yacht Club each day after racing. Prizes have been provided by: Neilson, Henri Lloyd, LaserPerformance, Bolle Sunglasses, The Daily Sail and the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club. The overall Prize Giving will be held at the Yacht Club from 7.30pm on Saturday 27th June. We hope that all competitors will attend these events.
Having cross checked the entry list against the class membership list, there are a number of people who need to confirm their membership with the class. There must be a full member on board for the event.
Class Association T-Shirt Scheme
If you have not already done so, please support your class association and buy one of the 2009 UK Class Association T-Shirts. The shirts cost £25.00 and include a raffle ticket. The raffle will be drawn on Saturday 10th October at the Class Prize Giving. There are a fantastic range of prizes on offer, from a holiday with Neilson, Henri Lloyd clothing, Marlow Rope Kits, SB3 Sails, The Daily Sail membership vouchers, Harken kit and many more!
With 62 entries to date, the 2009 UK National Championships are the largest ever for the class! Fingers crossed for perfect conditions! I look forward to seeing you in Falmouth.
