Cannes Sailing Cup 2016 – Warming-up for Grand Slam France 2016!
This second edition gathered 16 teams from 4 nations (Fra-Gbr-Ita-Rus) , with a very high level as 5 of the top 10 teams of the 2015 Worlds were present.
Cannes was also thrilled to welcome the 3 Russians teams who won the 2015 Nations Cup , including Kiril Frolov, who came 5th at the Worlds in Torbole.
10 races in 3 days, in ideal wind and weather conditions, blowing 6-14 knots southerly and north easterly winds.
The Yacht Club de Cannes had also organised a special race, called “A Donf!”, a downwind speed run 130°, which had a lot of success.
Sacha Pelisson – Emeric Michel – Lucas Chatonnier – Marine Boudot (Fra) won the 18th March «A Donf !», and Kirill Frolov – Alexey Murashkin – Egor Ignatenko (Rus) won the 19th March «A Donf !» .
