Having looked at how to make the Nationals as great as possible we have changed the format slightly:
Sportsboat World Short Course National Championships
The Sportsboat World Short Course National Championships will be on Friday 4th September. Entry will be £25, with every boat that is entered being put into a raffle to win a brand new Jib.
The Sportsboat World Short Course National Championships will have a ‘Sprint Series’ format of 20 minute races with a midday start and as many as we can fit in (NOR to be released shortly). Throughout the racing there will be on the water coaching by the former RYA British Keelboat Head Coach Ash Holmes, with video coaching debrief at the end of the day courtesy of Spinlock to whom we are very grateful.
The SB20 Sportsboat World Short Course National Champions will be crowned in the prize giving at 7pm Friday 4th September – where the spinnaker will be raffled to the first boat who is there. If you are not at the prize giving and your boat is selected, the raffle will be re-drawn – you have been warned. Stormforce Coaching National Championships
We felt that reverting back to the 3 day nationals format would encourage participation and the Short Course Champs on Friday would allow for those who would still like 4 days of sailing.
With that in mind the Stormforce Coaching National Championships will now be held Saturday 5th September – Monday 7th September.
There will be a later start on Saturday to provide time for boats to arrive, weigh-in and for any scrutineering to occur (NOR to be released shortly).
N.B. The SB20 Class AGM will be held on Sunday 6th September and we would encourage as many people as possible to attend as your feedback is crucial in ensuring the class is as successful as possible.
Entry for this event will open shortly.
