Among the participants we will welcome Belgium and Dutch teams as well as one foreign team all the way from Ukraine!

Representing Belgium:

Team Filimi of always smiling sailing family Baert. Team North Sea One of Filip Willems, sailing coach and  is the Nestor of the fleet with a lot of local knowledge and always a surprise in his pocket. Team Sharkbite of Gert Lerno sailing with his son(s) and having a sharp bite, frequent visitor in Portugal this year.

Team SELDEN of Paul Jonckheere is now recovering from his first Fastnet race, where for sure he was missing the real action of the one-design SB20s! 7seas sailing team with Simon de Gendt is the 2019 World Champion in Laser Radial… TACKTONIC is the team prepping for the worlds in Hyères this year. And last but not least, the winner of the last Dutch Grand Slam at the North Sea Regatta, GO WITH THE FLOW of the SB20 Belgium Class president – Bart Tytgat.

Some teams form the Netherlands will include: HeinRuytenOneDesign of Hein Ruyten doesn’t need introduction, the dealer of SB20s in Belgium and Netherlands and a sailor of pretty much everything, you will mostly find Hein on the water!

Silver Bullet is a new team in their first year in SB20 Class and very motivated, welcome! Team 3 J’s that is already well known in the SB20 family is probably the best Dutch team at the moment! Team MXTC of Marco Van Driel, a very strong competitor and the current Dutch National champion. More Dutch teams, the De Keizer of always friendly Mark Snijder and not less friendly Dutch SB20 president Martijn Buitenhuis, will be trying to steal the Belgium National Champion title!

To balance the strong local (and male) domination a team from Ukraine is paying a visit with a lady at the helm, Julia Freespirit, with three Ukrainian sailors onboard known as the #GameChangers.

You must have heard of this prominent team be it the UK or the Portuguese Nationals or the UK Words or the Europeans. After two years of sailing in various countries across Europe they these Ukrainian rookies have set a high level of competition against some top teams.

Sailing conditions promise a bit of everything, but mostly windy weekend with showers and full moon tides. The participants will be hosted by the renowned Royal North Sea Yacht Club and fed with lobsters and delicious Belgian beers!
