A Great Start to 2011 in Cascais – Event Report & Results
With 17 entries and 3 crews from abroad (GBR / Russia / Swiss.), the SB3 Cascais fleet kicked off 2011 with 2 great days of winter racing and fun.
Over the two days there where 6 races, with the wind blowing out of the south east, between 8 and 12 kts and the temperature in the mid teens. The level of racing was quite high with 4 diferent teams winning races.
At the end of the first day 3 teams had 8 points, making day 2 very exciting. John Pollard, Rob Smith and Charlie Hook took first place overall in great style with 3 wins. Second place was taken by Luis Santos, Rui Duarte and Pedro Vilela. Team Russia´s Luka Rodion, Oleg Zherebtson, Alexander Bozhko and Maria Rudskaia in third place.
A great happy hour war organized by Clube Naval de Cascais and X Premium, with wine tasting and other tasty traditional Portuguese products.
The next two day events will be 12/13 of February and 12/13 March. A limited number of boats are available for charter and there are open positions for crewing. Contact: a.gray@engexpor.pt
