  • Multipliers are not applied to DNC scores

SB20 SOLENT SERIES 2019 & FUTURE YEARS)

Solent Series

  • Frostbite Championships
  • Warsash SC Spring Championships (single weekend)
  • RORC Vice Admirals Cup**
  • UK Sprint Championships (if it is held in the Solent in a particular year)
  • Royal Solent YC Taitinger Regatta
  • Cowes Mini Slam (2ndhalf of Cowes Week)
  • Royal Southern YC September Regatta
  • Hamble River SC One Design Championships (excluded from the 2019 series as a number of boats will be in France for the Worlds and warm up events)

Solent Series Qualification & Scoring

  • 2 events count as a series
  • If only 2 events are sailed they both count. If 3 or 4 events are sailed then 1 discard is applied.  If 5 or 6 events are sailed then 2 discards are applied.  If 7 or more events are sailed 3 discards are applied
  • For events a boat does not race in it’s series score will be DNC, (DNC = number of series entries plus 1)

Solent Series Weighting for Major Events

  • ** If the Southern Area Championships is combined with one of the above events in the Solent in a particular year then that event has a 0.8 multiplier applied, i.e. your final event result will be multiplied by 0.8 before becoming a series result. Thus in 2019 the RORC Vice Admiral’s cup will have the multiplier applied however in 2020 as the Southern Championships are in Torbay there is no multiplier in any Solent series events.
  • Multipliers are not applied to DNC scores

Solent Series Entry

  • Every SB20 that competes in three or more of the series events will automatically be entered into the Solent Series. If only four (or less events) are sailed then boats competing in two or more events will be automatically entered.

If a dispute arises as to the wording of the above notice or scoring (for either series) then the UK Class Secretary’s opinion on the intended wording will be applied and will be final.
