Welcome to the Laser SB3 Class Association (SB3CA) website.
The Class Association is an amateur SB3 owners’ run group, who collectively coordinate and represent the worldwide interests of the SB3 Class. Under the direction of the World Council, the Class Association is made up of the combined National Associations and their Committees, and their Advisory Council (the designer, Tony Castro, and licensed builder LaserPerformance). The Class has ISAF status, and holds a World Championship in each calendar year.
The SB3CA proudly claims to be one of the most tightly restricted one keelboat classes in existence, with little variation from the builder’s final product permitted. With minimal maintenance, easy trailability, and low cost, the Class thrives on its philosophy of providing inclusive, high intensity, great fun, and easily attainable high quality racing for its members.
Currently actively raced in Australia, Belgium, Dubai, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Singapore, United Kingdom, and with fleets being developed in Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and the USA, this is the fastest growing keelboat fleet in the World today.
